[Eng Sub]Deno: Next Generation JavaScript Runtime by Yongwook Choi | JSConf Korea 2022
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
Ryan Dahl, creator of Node.js, presented "10 Things I regret about Node.js" at JSConf EU 2018 and introduced Deno, a newly developed JavaScript runtime. Four years have passed since then. What advantages does Deno have and how much ore convenient is it over Node.js? Is it okay to use Deno in production instead of Node.js now? Through creating a Node.js project with TypeScript, we will find out ...

    - eslint: Choose ESLint if you need a highly customizable and extensible linter that can enforce coding standards, detect errors, and provide suggestions for improving code quality. ESLint supports various plugins and configurations to tailor it to your project's specific needs. - prettier: Choose Prettier if you want a code formatter that focuses on code styling and formatting, ensuring consistent and aesthetically pleasing code across your project. Prettier automatically formats your code according to predefined rules, reducing the need for manual formatting. - standard: Choose Standard if you are looking for a zero-configuration linter that follows a strict set of predefined rules and conventions. Standard enforces a consistent coding style and best practices without the need for additional configuration. - xo: Choose XO if you want a linter that combines the best practices of ESLint with a zero-configuration setup. XO provides a set of opinionated rules and configurations to ensure code quality and consistency without the hassle of manual setup. - semistandard: Choose Semistandard if you prefer a strict subset of ESLint rules that enforces the use of semicolons in JavaScript code. Semistandard aims to promote consistency in code style by mandating the inclusion of semicolons at the end of statements.

the effect that the function is saved and has private variables is due to the implementation of the behavior by the engine. But the term closure is about something else altogether.

As always, her presentation is amazing!. One small observation: Actually the cardDeck, can be expressed in a purely functional way, as the generators returned by generator function are iterable as well as iterator: const cardDeck = function* () { const suits = ["♣", "♦", "♥", "♠"]; const court = ["J", "Q", "K", "A"]; for (let suit of suits) { for (let i = 2; i <= 10; i++) yield suit + i; for (let c of court) yield suit + c; } }; for (let card of cardDeck()) { console.log(card); } This avoids unwanted object wrapper, and also the `this` usage. Thoughts?

19:41, this makes it seem like each setTimeout countdown happens synchronously, thus the last one will happen after 4 seconds. Which is not correct. This "loupe" program can be misleading since it doesn't have a representation for the actual time this all takes (even if it was just an estimate it would put things into perspective).

13:47, passes from webapi after settimeout() finishes to task queue and then the vet loop takes a look at the stack and if it's empty, then it goes and takes what's in task you and put it into the stack. 14:57 Async stuff we do setTimeout(function cb() { console.log('there'); }, 0); and then this code will execute after the stack is empty of the other code 23:53 example of not blocking the event loop - they're saying don't put slow shitty code on the stack because the browser can't do what it needs to do which is create a nice fluid UI, 23:34 we can't select anything on the screen while the stack has items, whereas at 23:57 they all go to the callback queue after going through webapis and so it's a clear stack for render queue to render the screen incrementally.
